Built for owner-operators
We work with small businesses where owners answer the phone. Engagements are scoped honestly, priced in fixed fees, and right-sized for businesses that don't need (or can't yet justify) a full finance department.
Ridgeview Ledger Co helps small businesses turn the back-office into a quiet system — clean books, automated workflows, and reporting that matches how the business actually runs. We build it, run it, and document it, so owners spend their time on the business instead of chasing receipts.
We design the accounting system, automate the workflows, run the books, and prepare the return. One connected stack, one fixed-fee engagement at a time.
We work with small businesses where owners answer the phone. Engagements are scoped honestly, priced in fixed fees, and right-sized for businesses that don't need (or can't yet justify) a full finance department.
We design the accounting information system before we touch the books. Clean inputs, automated flows, and reporting that matches how you actually run the company — so the back-office stays quiet after we hand it back.
Engagements are scoped, priced, and put in writing before work begins. You'll know exactly what we'll deliver, what it costs, and the timeline — agreed in an engagement letter before we touch a thing.
Headquartered in Abingdon, VA. We meet clients in person from Kingsport to Abingdon and travel the corridor between Knoxville and Roanoke. Remote delivery for organizations anywhere in the U.S.
Most clients start with a system assessment, then choose where to begin. Each engagement is fixed-fee where possible, scoped in writing, and designed to plug into the rest of the stack.
Whether the file is brand-new or eighteen months of unreconciled receipts, we get the books into clean, reportable shape. Setups and clean-ups are designed by a Certified Advanced QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor.
Move from desktop, spreadsheets, or a different cloud platform onto a modern accounting platform without losing history or breaking reports. We standardize on QuickBooks Online and migrate cleanly to it.
Replace manual data entry, chase-emails, and spreadsheet hand-offs with connected workflows across your accounting stack. Payroll workflows are implemented by a certified payroll specialist.
Day-to-day accounting performed by a contracted, non-CPA accountant — Intuit Certified Bookkeeping Professional — so owners and operators get back to the business. Monthly, weekly, or daily cadences available.
We prepare and electronically file federal and state income-tax returns. We are not Enrolled Agents and do not provide IRS representation. Returns are filed under our active IRS EFIN and PTIN.
Choose the right tools and wire them together — POS, e-commerce, CRM, payroll, payments, and reporting — anchored on the platform we standardize on.
We work best with small businesses in the industries that built — and still drive — the corridor we call home. We are not generalists; the more your operation looks like the list below, the more leverage we bring on day one.
Family farms, row-crop and livestock operations, agritourism, ag-services. Cash- and accrual-method aware, with seasonality built into reporting.
Restaurants, food trucks, caterers, and ghost kitchens. POS-to-books reconciliation, prime-cost reporting, and labor-percentage discipline.
Timber harvesters, sawmills, and forest-management operations. Stumpage, contract-cut, and inventory-tracking discipline tied to financial reporting.
Hotels, inns, short-term rentals, and event venues. Daily-revenue reconciliations, occupancy-aware reporting, and a clean line between operating and owner activity.
Owner-operator trucking, regional freight, and warehousing. Per-load and per-mile reporting, IFTA-friendly bookkeeping, and equipment-life tracking.
Job-shop and small-batch manufacturers. Inventory, WIP, COGS, and standard-vs-actual reporting that owners can actually use on the shop floor.
Quarry, aggregate, and small-scale extraction operations. Equipment depreciation, royalty, and reclamation tracking inside a clean monthly close.
Small developers, builders, and rental operators. Project, property, and entity-level reporting that holds up to lender and partner scrutiny.
Don't see your industry? Reach out anyway. If we're not a fit, we'll tell you so on the discovery call and point you toward someone who is.
Each engagement starts with a written scope of services and a fixed fee where the work allows. Deliverables, timeline, and responsibilities are defined up front, in an engagement letter, before any paid work begins.
A 30-minute conversation about how the business runs today, where the friction is, and what good looks like 90 days out. No charge, no obligation.
We review your current accounting file, app stack, and close process. You get a written assessment with prioritized recommendations and an investment range — yours to keep regardless of next steps.
We design the chart of accounts, configure QuickBooks Online, connect the app stack, and document the as-built system. Migrations include a parallel-run period before cutover.
Optional ongoing back-office services — reconciliations, AP/AR, month-end close, management reporting — performed by contracted non-CPA accountants on a fixed monthly fee.
Quarterly business reviews to revisit the system, the stack, and the reporting against the goals we set in discovery. Adjust as the business changes.
Tell us about the business and where the friction is. We'll tell you whether we're the right fit — and what we'd do first.
